School’s Out! is the name for Kirklees’ Holiday Activities and Food programme. The offer supports benefits related free school meal eligible children and young people during the April, Summer and December school holidays.

We work with a wide range of organisations to offer four hours of enrichment activities and a healthy nutritious meal for eligible children. Support is available at hundreds of venues throughout the school holiday periods

We also encourage providers to offer low-cost paid for places for children and young people not eligible for benefits related free school meals

We encourage organisations to apply for funding in advance of the school holiday periods and we share information regarding the support available with partners prior to enable access for supported families

The Department for Education (DfE) has provided grant funding to all local authorities in England, to co-ordinate free holiday provision for children and young people entitled to benefit-related free school meals.

This document is the Holiday Activities and Food Annual Report for the 2023-23 period.

This report highlights some of the fantastic achievements in recognition of both the planning and programme delivery and the strength of the partnership working.
